What Is a Subscription in Agile.Now?

Subscription

A subscription serves as the foundation for delivering services Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings. They define how services, applications, and features are made available to each workspace (tenant), and how these services are billed and managed over time. 


Each subscription is linked to a Product. A product is a pre-configured bundle of services, including applications and features, designed to meet specific business or operational needs. While a product can have one or multiple pricing plans, only one pricing plan can be linked to a subscription at a time. 


The Saas Platform administrator can only define the subscriptions and assign them to the workspaces. 

Note:Each subscription can be assigned to only one workspace at a time. However, a workspace can be linked to one or multiple subscriptions. This flexibility allows different subscription periods (timers) to be applied, enabling activation of various services within the same workspace. As a result, managing and maintaining subscriptions becomes more efficient and aligned with evolving business needs.

What happens when you link a product to a subscription?

When you select a Product and its associated Product Plan for a subscription, you enable workspace users to access the services, applications, and features defined in the product bundle. The Product Plan sets the base price for the subscription. 

Note: 
By default, the administrator of the user is granted access to all applications included in the Product. It is the responsibility of the Workspace administrator to configure appropriate application access rights for other users within the workspace.

Customizing Subscriptions

While products provide the default structure for subscriptions, Agile.Now also allows for customization:

  • Additional services can be configured per subscription to tailor the offering to a specific workspace’s needs.

  • This enables SaaS providers to deliver flexible, tenant-specific solutions without deviating from core product definitions.

 The following information is configured for a subscription:

ProductSelect the product to associate with this subscription. A product is a bundle of services (applications and features).
PlanA pricing plan from the selected product. Only one plan can be linked to a subscription at a time.
CurrencyThe default currency from the product plan.
Note: You can choose any other currency supported in the product price plan.
Base priceAnnual base price and monthly base price are according to the product pricing plan.
General information on Subscriptions
Free trial It enables free trial configuration with a duration setting for the free trial period. During this time, the workspace can access services without billing.
Note: A free trial can be enabled if the selected product's pricing plan is configured to support trial periods. 
Trial periodTrial period can also be based on a customized period. 
Billing information  When billing is activated, the subscription becomes ready for active billing based on the defined billing configurations. 
Subscription statusThe subscription status is used to manage the subscription lifecycle, which is explained in detail subscription lifecycle


Once you save your changes in a subscription, the applications and configurations associated with that subscription will be applied to the user's workspace.
