Understanding Agile. Now as a SaaS platform

Article summary

Agile. Now provides a flexible platform designed to support both Single-Tenant and Multi-Tenant SaaS architectures, tailored to meet the diverse needs of modern enterprises.

The platform is built to revolutionize how applications serve multiple clients (tenants) by offering strong data isolation, customization, and security. Whether operating independently or as part of a hub-based, multi-layered tenant ecosystem, Agile. Now enables SaaS providers to offer a seamless and secure experience for their enterprise customers.

Single-Tenant Model

In a Single-Tenant setup:
Each enterprise is provisioned with a dedicated instance, including its own private workspace and database requiring the following:

  • Isolated infrastructure: A seperate untime environment and database to ensure full data segregation.
  • Custom domain configurations: Enterprise-specific URLs and routing for login and application access.
  • Organization-specific configuration:Tailored environment variables, authentication methods, and security policies.
  • Dedicated application bundles: Only the applications licensed or required by the tenant are deployed.
  • Independent User Management: Managing user's access control based on their usage or need (personas, roles and groups)
  • Deployment autonomy, based on clients' subscription plan: Support for versioning, subscription release timing, and custom deployment fows such as add-ons per tenant.

Multi-Tenant Model

The Agile. Now architecture enables enterprises to build and operate their own SaaS infrastructure, allowing them to host other organizations within a secure and scalable multi-tenant environment.

In a typical multi-tenant setup, a SaaS provider (Hub) hosts multiple enterprises on a shared platform, leveraging common infrastructure. Each hosted enterprise can create and manage several workspaces (tenants), with each workspace representing a distinct business unit, department, or branch.

Each workspace is logically isolated, offering independent configurations, user management, and access controls. This ensures strong tenant separation while supporting operational flexibility and scalability.

Agile. Now further enhances this model by supporting a two-tiered hub provider structure:

  • Root SaaS Hub Provider – the primary owner of the SaaS platform, responsible for the overarching governance and infrastructure.

  • Secondary Hub Providers – entities operating under the Root Hub, each capable of managing their own enterprises and tenant hierarchies within the shared platform.

This layered architecture supports complex business ecosystems, enabling enterprises not only to consume SaaS but also to act as service providers within their own domains.

The image below illustrates the relationship between the service provider and tenants in both a hierarchical multi-tenant architecture and a single-tenant architecture.

Configuration tips

  • Each workspace allows only one administrator at a time.
  • Companies can deploy their own custom applications in addition to shared platform services.
  • Application access rights and feature-level permissions are configurable per workspace , See Settings/Access management
  • Custom applications specific for a workspace can be added through API's configuration, see for detail here XX - These are not synchrinozed through workspace subscriptions.

Key advantages

  • Multi-level SaaS hierarchy enables enterprises to offer their own services as SaaS to clients or internal branches—each as separate tenants.
  • Workspaces support full customization and branding, allowing whitelabeling per client or unit.
  • Access rights and security settings are independently managed per workspace, supporting strong tenant isolation.
  • Each enterprise can launch its own applications within the workspace, extending the platform beyond shared services.
