Managing your preferences in Agile.Now ensures your account details are accurate, secure, and aligned with your communication preferences. This guide covers how to update your contact information, notification preferences, and other settings, including the verification process for email and phone changes.
Accessing Your Preferences
- Log in to your Agile.Now account.
- Navigate to Settings > Your Preferences.
- The following fields are available for configuration:
- First Name: Update your first name as needed.
- Last Name: Update your last name as needed.
- Phone Number: Enter a valid phone number. (Optional)
- Email: Provide a unique and valid email address. (Mandatory)
- Timezone: Select your timezone from the dropdown list.
- Date Format: Choose your preferred date format (e.g., DD-MM-YYYY).
- Default Language: Set your preferred language for the interface.
- Default Workspace: Select your default workspace.
- Notification Settings:
- Notify by Phone: Enable or disable notifications via SMS.
- Notify by Email: Enable or disable notifications via email.
- Authenticator Info: (Read-only) View details about your connected authenticator.
Updating Contact Details
1. Modify Email or Phone
- Email: Update the
Email
field with a unique and valid email address. - Phone: Update the
Phone Number
field with a valid phone number (optional). - Click Save after making changes.
Validation Rules:
- Email must be unique and mandatory.
- Phone number must be unique but is optional.
- Changes trigger a verification process.
Verification Process
2. Verification Prompt
After saving:
- A verification link is sent to the updated email address.
- A verification code is sent via SMS to the updated phone number.
3. Complete Verification
- For Email: Click the verification link in the email.
- For Phone: Enter the SMS verification code in the pop-up window.
- Verification links and codes expire after 20 minutes.
Notification Settings
Agile.Now allows you to manage how you receive system notifications:
- Notify by Phone: Enable this to receive SMS notifications for critical updates.
- Notify by Email: Enable this to receive email notifications.
Notifications will follow your preferences. If neither option is enabled, you won’t receive notifications.
Confirmation Notifications
After successfully verifying your updated details:
- A confirmation message is sent to your updated email and/or phone.
Notification Examples:
- SMS Confirmation:
"Your contact information has been updated successfully. If this wasn’t you, contact support at support@agilenow.io." - Email Confirmation:
Dear [User], Your contact information has been successfully updated. If this wasn’t you, please contact our support team immediately at support@agilenow.io. Best regards, Agile.Now Support Team
Access Rights
- Ensure you have the
Settings
role with create and update permissions. - Contact your administrator if you encounter any permission issues.
Handling Edge Cases
Scenario | Behavior |
---|---|
Verification expires (20 minutes) | User must request a new code/link to complete verification. |
Invalid verification code/link | User sees an error and must retry with a new code/link. |
Partial updates (email/phone only) | Each field is verified and saved independently. |
Unreachable contact details | User receives an error and is prompted to provide a reachable email/phone. |
